OF BRINJALS AND NICOTINE

In Malaysia the English name for the eggplant is brinjal.  In Malay we refer to it as terung. Though it is thought of as a vegetable by many locals, the brinjal is actually a fruit since it belongs to the berry group. The ones that I usually eat are long ones.
One interesting fact about the brinjal is that it contains nicotine.  Yeah!  The dangerous stuff found in cigarettes.  However, the amount of nicotine from eggplant is negligible compared to passive smoking.
