STOPPING BY AT SANATHANA DHARMA ASHRAM

Yesterday was a public holiday.  In the afternoon, I went with Lai Yoong to the Sanathana Dharma Ashram in Sitiawan. It is a foster home for underprivileged children.  We went there to send some clothings and food for the children of the home.
It was around 3.00 p.m. and the children were doing self-study under the supervision of a few girls whom they referred to as Sisters.  These girls were actually children of the Ashram who had grown up and later became part of the workforce of the establishment. 
Lai Yoong and I are really in awe of the people who have so much love and compassion to run such a place for orphans, abandoned children and those from broken homes.  It is through the work of people like this that there is hope for such children.  What the two of us can do is just drop by once in a while to visit such homes and also bring food and clothings for them.  The gesture is really very small.
