FESTIVE FOOD

The Lunar New Year is a time for merry making and of course, food must not be left out.  During this festive season, the Chinese like to eat waxed food like wax duck and wax sausages.  Below are some food that I saw being sold at the market that would be used as offerings at the altar.
 Biscuits shaped like gold nuggets.
 Buns shaped like fruits.
 Peach shaped buns.
 Longevity buns or Sau tou.
My mum and aunt choosing fruits for the lunar new year.
Apples, plums, oranges and pears are considered auspicious food.
