MY FORMER STUDENTS

I recently upgraded the Internet service for my home.  To my surprise, the technicians from the Telecommunication company who came to do the upgrade were two of my former students.  They had completed their diploma courses and were temporarily working in this company to gain work experience.  The boys told me that they would be continuing with their studies soon.
As a teacher, I would always want to see my students get more academic qualifications.  If the boys told me that they would just remain as technicians in the company and be satisfied, I would have been very disappointed.  Thank goodness, they have higher aims.

But nowaday getting higher acedemic qualification does not guarantee a good prospect job. Quality of our higher education has dropped significantly compare to our neighbouring countries as the entry into public university is not based on meritocracy.
