AUSPICIOUS PUMPKIN

To the Chinese, the pumpkin is regarded as an auspicious fruit that is regarded to represent abundance and great fortune. It is also a fruit that symbolizes fertility that promises filial and healthy offspring to carry on the family name. Some Feg Shui practitioners place a pumpkin (real or otherwise) in the West sector for infant luck.
In the above picture, I am holding up a pumpkin that was grown in the school Herb Garden.  It is not as orangey or big as the ones that we usually see in pictures.  Nevertheless, it is special because it was grown by one of my colleagues.
