NATIONAL FOOD TERMINAL (TEMAN) IN GOPENG

Last weekend I decided to go check out the National Food Terminal or Terminal Makanan Negara (TEMAN) at the Gopeng Industrial Area. There are two such terminals in Malaysia, one in Gopeng and the other in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The Gopeng TEMAN costing RM116 million covers an area of 20 hectares. There are 297 shop lots.
The Gopeng TEMAN which was set up by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Marketing (FAMA) has begun operation and is expected to be fully operational come the first day of 2011. It is meant to be a modern food supply centre linking production, distribution and consumption under a single complex.
