I saw this unfamiliar fruit when I was having lunch with my mum and aunt at a seafood restaurant in Kampung Cina a couple of weeks ago. I asked the owner and he told me that it was the Mo Fa Kor. Mo Fa Kor? Yup, that's the name of the fruit.
I am sure that many Malaysians would have eaten dried Mo Fa Kor. Look at the packaging of the dried fruit below and I am sure it would ring a bell.
A distant relative gave us this fruit several years ago. Katanya boleh buat ubat. Can't remember the exact usage nor its local name though.
ReplyDeleteI believe it's called Calabash in English. Our friends in Indonesia call it buah Berenuk.
