Fire cupping or simply cupping is a form of traditional medicine. It involves placing cups containing reduced air pressure (suction) on the skin. It is known as bekam in the Malay Language.
Know what? I witnessed two men undergoing such treatment at the Thursday Market in Kampung Koh, Sitiawan. The treatment was done in broad daylight and the two patients were in view of all and sundry who were visiting the market that day. Anyway, both of them looked so relaxed and were unperturbed that they were being stared at by the onlookers.
