ATTENDING NATIONAL LEVEL LAUNCHING CEREMONY

On Tuesday I attended the national level launching ceremony for the National Language month at Indera Mulia Stadium in Ipoh.
The choir singing the song "Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa" which translates to mean language is the soul of a race.
The deputy prime minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato Seri Diraja Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Mohd. Yassin officiated at the launching ceremony. He was addressing the audience which comprised mostly of teachers and students at the indoor stadium.
The deputy prime minister presenting a special award to Professor Emeritus Dr Asmah Hj Omar in conjunction with the launching ceremony.
Professor Emeritus Dato' Dr. Asmah bt Hj Omar received the National Language Intellectual Award (Anugerah Tokoh Ilmuwan Bahasa Kebangsaan 2010). She has been one of the pillars behind the development of the language and has produced an encyclopedia, working papers, books and articles in the national language.
Behind me the students and their teachers were busy taking photographs on the stage after the ceremony had ended.
