Yesterday morning, I went with my mum to the shop selling figurines of Kuan Yin which is located in Ipoh New Town. Both of us have known the owner for many years and he always gives us a fair price for our purchases. After making the purchase, I carried the figurine of my Goddess very carefully to the car.
Later, my mum and I sent the figurine to the temple for the blessing ceremony by the sifu. The blessing ceremony will be carried out on an auspicious date and the idol of the Goddess will be kept at the temple until I go and invite the Goddess back to my house in Sitiawan.
By the way, I did make enquiries about the significance of a Kuan Yin who is in a sitting position and One who is standing. According to the lady at the shop, it is a matter of preference. There is really no such thing as the house altar having to invite a Kuan Yin in a sitting position only. After all, one can imagine the figurine of the deity as an Avatar.
