"You have a yellow fire hydrant in front of your house" Lai Yoong pointed out to me when she went with me to my house on Friday. However, the effect of the fire hydrant is actually rather minimal. The thing to be concerned about is the house than the fire hydrant. The house is barely affected by a fire hydrant. The key areas we focus on is "the nature of the house", whether is it good for people and/or good for money. Second is the nature of the Qi at the entrance, the bedrooms and other key areas of the house or building. Then we look at the environmental influences, both inside and out. A fire hydrant is not much of a concern as an electrical transformer box in the garden. That too can be countered by using an Earth element, such as decorative granite rocks.
