MY TWO PRECIOUS WU LOU GIFTS

I had a lovely surprise when I opened a package I received on Friday afternoon.  Inside the package was a lovely message and two miniature wu lous painstakingly polished and decorated by the sender who happened to be one of Xing Fu's visitors, Stephanie.  It was really so kind of her to send me such a wonderful gift to thank me for writing this blog on happiness.
Gosh!  I am really touched.  I promise to work even harder to learn about Feng Shui to share with everyone.
The gift of a Wu Lou or Calabash Gourd to a Chinese is very meaningful and auspicious. Why?  It is because the wu lou is a symbol of good health and longevity. Many Taoist deities such as the God of Longevity Sau Sing Kung (in 3 Lucky Stars Fuk Luk Sau),  Li Tieh Kuai (one of the 8 Immortals) and the Mad Monk God (Chai Kung) carry the wu lou with them to cure difficult ailments.  There are also Taoist deities and Taoist monks who use the Wu Lou to absorb bad evil spirits into it for imprisonment.
In Feng Shui, the Wu Lou is believed to be able to absorb bad Qi and negative energy. Let it be known that the Wu Lou in its natural form is better than items made into the shape of a gourd from other materials. There are exceptions in special cures where metal or crystal shaped wu lous are used in controlling the chi of our surrounding.
To activate a wu lou for feng shui purposes, it is important to tie either a red thread or red ribbon around its "valley" or "waist". Some people even paint the natural wu lou gold or add Chinese Emperor coins to absorb wealth luck.  Some Taoist masters also write talisman and bagua onto the wu lou for added protection and  to attract luck.
Therefore  it would be a real plus to get a real Wu Lou to capture its potent benefits.
