WHY I DID NOT BUY THE HOUSE I AM RENTING

This is the house that I am renting at present.  I have been living here since 1999.  Initially I had wanted to buy it from the owner in 2000 but he said that he and his family would be moving back when he and his wife retire.  They told me not to worry as that would be quite some time.  They bought the house for RM69,000 in 1998.
In 2006, one of the neighbours wanted to sell her house to me as she and her family were moving to a bigger house.  I had thought about buying it and had even brought Haji Hasnin to take a look.  He was adamant that I should not buy the house even if the owners had done a lot of renovation work.  The asking price was RM92,000.  Haji's reason was that there were a lot of foreign workers living in the area and also the youths in the area did not look too decent.  My house was broken into and most of my electrical gadgets, money and jewellery were stolen.
When the owner decided to sell his house at the beginning of the year, he offered to sell it to me for RM115,000.  Of course, I declined.  Besides the cracks and faults of the house, I had to consider my safety and security.
Besides looking at the house direction and other Feng Shui factors when buying a house, one also needs to look at the neighbours and also consider how safe is the area.  I am lucky in the sense that I have a good friend to give me sound advice.
