THUMBS UP TO JANG DONG GUN

I have mentioned time and again that I have high regards for stars who lend their celebrity to charitable causes.  No doubt there would be some who say that these celebrities are doing so to get publicity and to add to their fanbase.  Well, at least they have done something charitable and those in need have benefitted.  So that is a win-win situation.  Anyway, I think that mega stars like Jackie Chan, Eric Tsang and Jet Li who are always in the forefront when it comes to charitable work are not really in need of that much publicity as they are already very famous and established.
The same would go to South Korean star, Jang Dong Gun.  He is already very famous in his home country, in Asia and also many parts of the world.  The above photos of Jang helping the hungry in Laos were posted by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
I read that recently the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) received two generous contributions, one from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT) of the Republic of Korea, and the other from famous Korean actor, Mr Jang Dong Gun. Besides donating money, Jang who is WFP’s Ambassador Against Hunger for Korea also visited Ban Houayhoy, one of the villages in Laos that was devastated by Typhoon Ketsana and lost most of it’s rice crop. He visited the schools where he met with the students, he also helped transport food to the village.
Isn't it great to see pictures of a celebrity doing humanitarian work instead of engaging in negative activities?
