SOME people may doubt businessman Shan Kulasingam’s experience but he strongly attributes the financial relief he now enjoys to the salt therapy he took up over 27 weeks.

“When the economy crashed in 1997, I lost a lot of money on the stock market and several of my businesses collapsed,” said Kulasingam, from Klang, Selangor.

As a result, he had to take an overdraft of RM800,000, ask his close friends for money, and borrow RM600,000 from loan sharks. “That did not include my credit card bills, which added up to RM300,000.”

But things failed to improve and he was on the verge of bankruptcy. His bungalow was about to be auctioned off and he was close to breaking down because he had lost all his savings and assets.

In April 2005, Kulasingam turned up for one of my Vasthu Sastra talks in Kuala Lumpur to seek alternative ways to overcome his challenges.

"When I learnt about the inexpensive salt procedure (first mentioned in this column on April 11, 2004), I decided to give it a try," said the father of two. “My wife and I started buying salt every Friday and we would pour it into one jar. To ensure it did not overflow, we had another jar to catch the extra salt. We were glad to be able to complete the cycle without a break.”

Kulasingam noted that as he performed the ritual, his tight financial situation began to loosen up. Slowly, deals that had been halted started to move again. A week after he completed the ritual, he received RM1.5mil, and four weeks after that, another RM1mil from the sale of his property investments.

He is now religiously into his second 27-week cycle of the ritual. He has also started following Vasthu Sastra recommendations for his house, which faces the north-west.

"Sceptics may read my story with amusement, but I think one should experience the benefits to understand the power of this ancient knowledge.”
