SINGAPORE ROJAK

There are actually a few types of rojak here in Malaysia.  In the Malay language rojak means mixture.  So it would be obvious that any rojak dish would be a mixture of different ingredients.  The ones that we are used to are the traditional fruit and vegetable rojak and the Indian or Mamak Rojak.  The Mamak Rojak contains fried dough fritters, bean curds, boiled potatoes, prawn fritters, hard boiled eggs, bean sprouts, and cucumber mixed with a sweet thick, spicy peanut sauce.
The vendor at the stall above told me that they were selling Rojak Singapura.  One gets to pick and choose the type of ingredients like fishballs, tofu, prawn fritters, potatoes, crab sticks, et cetera for the rojak.  Cucumber slices and also the peanut sauces would be added to complete the dish.
