The Apam Balik is the Malay version of the Chinese Tai Kou Mien. There is a slight difference though. The Chinese one is crispier and there is no maize or chocolate rice added to it. I enjoy eating both types.
I usually stop in Ayer Tawar to buy the Apam Balik from the hawker there. To me, the Apam Balik that he makes are delicious. Besides, he would make mine without ground nuts and chocolate rice. I like mine with lots of maize. One big piece sells for RM1.50.
