WASTEFUL ACT

I watched a video about people criticising farmers in Florida who are destroying their crops of strawberries because there is a glut which has made the price go down from RM1.00 to 25 cents.  Instead of donating it to the needy, they went about destroying the crops.  Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!  What a wasteful act.

To the Chinese wasting food is supposed to be taboo.  It is said that if we do not know how to appreciate food that is given to us, then the Powers Above might decide that those who do not deserve this privilege might find it taken away from them.  They might one day find themselves not being able to afford to buy food or becoming too sick to eat the food since they have been so wasteful and unappreciative.
