The fifteenth day of the first lunar month is also called San-Yuan (upper period of the year) Festival in Taoism. This day is the birthday of the Heavenly Officer who blesses human luck. There will be some Taoists who will have a prayer ceremony at home for this deity or go to a Taoist temple to pray for luck.
Below is the Double Dragon Heaven Seal that one can buy from a store selling Feng Shui items. Some people would have their names carved on to the stamp to symbolically mean that they have the blessings from the Heavenly Officer.
The four Chinese characters (Tian Guan Ci Fu)on the seal literally means "blessing from heavenly officer", the word Tian Guan, "heavenly officer" or more specifically Heavenly Emperor Zi Wei (天官賜福紫微大帝) or the Great Zi Wei, whom Taoists believe to descend to the human world on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year to bless people who have done good deeds. On this day, the Heavenly Officer is believed to distribute good luck and blessings to those who have been nice.
