YANG FOOD: COMMON PEPEROMIA


In my previous post, I blogged about the Man-to-Man plant or Ketumpangan air which can be found by the roadside or near the drains. May I add that this plant in Chinese cooking, this plant is considered to have Yang qualities.


In traditional Chinese medicine, the leaves and stem of the Man-to-Man is used to treat glaucoma and eyes diseases.
Here is a recipe for cooking the plant.
Ingredients Use:

1.Use the whole plant (4-5 mature plants).
2.Use Chinese Wolfberry (3 table spoons).
3.Use brown sugar (1 table spoon).


Method :

1.Put 4 bowls of water in a pot.
2.Put peperomia plants, Chinese wolfberry and brown sugar into the pot.
3.Boil up the pot and reduce to slow fire.
4.Boil in slow fire till 8/10 of a bowl.
5.Drink the tea when cool.


Indication :

1.Drink every two days.
2.There should be improvement after a week.
3.Continue until your eye problem is cured.
4.During the course, you could be expected to get watery eyes.


Other uses of Common Peperomia

1.Can be eaten raw (use it as ulam/salad)
2.Can be fried as vegetable.
