I read in some Feng Shui books that we should avoid having a staircase near the main entrance of a home or business. Why? It is because when Qi enters a place it is said to scurry up the stairs instead of circulate around the main floor. As a result Qi will then remain on the main floor. What to do about this? Try placing a large pot of plant by the staircase to redirect the Qi.
