It was lights out for an hour on Saturday night. Actually, my mum was more enthusiastic about the whole earth hour than I was. To me it was something fun to do with my mum. Both of us could rest our eyes and stay away from the telly and computer for an hour.
To be honest, I think that people participated because they thought it was a fun thing to do and it sort of gives them the idea that they are doing their bit for Mother Earth. However, I bet you that after the 28th of March, people would continue using electricity like there is no tomorrow. If and when people could make it a daily practice of saving electricity by turning on only the necessary lights, then there could be hope for the Earth.
