In the Chinese classic, "Butterfly Lovers", both the hero and heroine die at the end of the story. The two main leads of the latest screen version of this tale, Wu Chun and Charlene Choi attended the first premiere of “Butterfly Lovers” in Hong Kong on October 5. At the premiere, there was a small mock wedding ceremony. The mock wedding scene was very much different from the tragic ending of the movie. Charlene who was dressed in a red outfit befitting a bride was brought into the scene in an equally red palanquin. Then, Chun used his sword from "Butterfly Lovers” to lift up the flap and welcome his “bride”.
Wu Chun who hails from Brunei had never seen a traditional style wedding like this before. When the traditional Chinese wedding song was being played and while he was accompanying Charlene to the scene, he felt very curious. He said that for his wedding, he may consider this type of wedding style. Good for Wu Chun! At least he has the idea to keep our Chinese customs alive.
