It is rather easy to spot those people who are on a 10-day vegetarian diet at the temple. They will be attired in all white outifits whether they are inside the temple or during the procession. The devotees are not allowed to wear shorts as this shows disrespect to the deities. The devotees at the temple are not to wear shoes or slippers unless they have some medical problems.
Even those who go to the temple to pray should be decently attired and not wear clothes that are too sexy or revealing.
