THE POWER OF INTENTION

The pretty lady above is Ms Kathryn Weber. Ms Weber is the publisher of The Red Lotus Letter. I had taken an article from her site about Feng Shui and plants and am again posting another one which I got from her site. It is very interesting and I think the advice she gives is worth trying.
It's been said that you attract things two ways: by fear and by focus. The woman who fears losing her mate will undermine herself in a way that drives her husband away. A woman who seeks to graduate from a university as a doctor can place a picture of herself on her bulletin board with the words, "Dr. Sylvia Smith" underneath. Both work to achieve the women’s goal, but one is positive and one is negative. (I know which one appeals to me!)
The traditional feng shui view of intention – and luck
Traditional Chinese feng shui teaches that there are three kinds of luck: Heaven luck, earth luck, and man luck.
Heaven luck is the kind of luck you come to this world with and cannot be changed. Earth luck is Feng Shui
luck – the energy around you. This can be changed by selecting an auspicious office, a well-placed home, or making feng shui enhancements. And, man luck is the kind of energy and good fortune that we create for ourselves. Intention can help your man luck.
The wonderful thing about feng shui (earth luck) is that it is always present in the environment whether we think it is or not -- just like the microwave works whether I believe in it or not. That being said, there are times, according to traditional feng shui, when feng shui is affected by your outlook and your personal intention.
The mindset that draws chi
Having a positive outlook and the intention to create the life you want, attract love to your life, improve your career, or draw more wealth to you builds on itself. Good feng shui begets even better feng shui. In that way, feng shui is a lot like water. It’s called “priming the pump.” When you get in the car and get ready to start it, most of the time you push the gas pedal a couple of times before you turn the key. Why? It delivers the gas – or energy – to the engine to make sure it’s there for the ignition.
If you’ve ever used a pump handle to draw water, you’ll know it works the same way. Sometimes you have to pour water DOWN the pump to get water out of the pump. Think of your thoughts and intentions like pushing on the gas pedal or pouring water in the pump. You’re setting the stage for your feng shui to attract the kind of energy you desire. I’ve seen this work time and time again for people who didn’t think before to focus their energies and thoughts in the direction they want to go.
Back to the car analogy for a moment: you have to LOOK down the road and KNOW where you’re going before you can drive the car there. Sure, feng shui might take you there, but feng shui and your good thoughts can get you there much, much faster. And, when you make feng shui enhancements around your home and office with the intention that you are working to raise your prosperity energy, for example, the shift can be sudden – so be prepared!
5 Tips for working with intention
Be specific. Instead of making feng shui career enhancements with the intention to “get a job,” make the intention to “obtain a marketing manager position with a Fortune 500 company.”
See it as already happening. See yourself with the desired result. It’s a lot like praying. A prayer should be a “thank you” for the thing you are seeking.
Feel it. Connecting a thought with a feeling of what it is you desire is extremely powerful and creates a vibration in your whole body. It helps you to attune your mind and body together on the thing you want to manifest.
Write it down. The very act of writing your desire makes it more “concrete.” If you add a small plant in the wealth sector of your living room with the desire to improve your wealth, for example, write down your intention “to manifest new opportunities for income or advancement in my current job.” Roll up your written desire and tie it with a red ribbon and place it in the plant.
Take action. Have feng shui working in the background and then take action for your own desires making certain you keep an positive, expectant (not desperate!) outlook. Look at the job postings in your company, make an action plan to call three new clients if you need more business, or look for new opportunities – or get out and mingle if you are looking for love. Your own effort is the best way to set your intention and improve your man luck.
