CHINESE TABOOS

I personally think that many Chinese people are very supertitious and there are many taboos that they follow. Here are a few that I can think of:

TABOOS FOR BEDS
  1. The bed must not face the room door or the toilet directly.
  2. The bed must not face a mirror directly.
  3. There must be no beam above the bed.
  4. Do not place things under your bed (there are a few exceptions where feng shui is concerned).
  5. The head of the bed should have a solid backing, that is, it should have a headboard or at least the head of the bed must be placed next to the wall.
  6. The head of the bed should not be placed on the wall which adjoins a toilet.

TABOOS WHEN MOVING HOUSE

  1. Knives and sharp objects should not be the first items to be carried into the new house. Why? To avoid any blood related accidents in future.
  2. When shifting house, wrap all sharp objects with cloth and place them into containers before bringing them into the new house.
  3. Do not lose ones temper when shifting house.
  4. Do not break any crockery when shifting house.
  5. Do not move into the new house empty handed. Make sure to carry an auspicious item when moving in at the auspicious time and date that has been chosen.
  6. Do not shift house at night as the energy at night is 'yin'
