LUCKY 8

In the Cantonese dialect, the number 8 is pronounced as 'paht' and the Cantonese consider it to sound almost like 'fatt' which means to prosper. That is why this number is deemed to be a very lucky number for the Chinese. Personally, I do not think that the number 8 alone is lucky for everybody. To me certain numbers are lucky for certain people. Even the number 4 could be lucky for some.

I went with some of my friends to have lunch around the First Garden area and spotted the 8-shaped potted plants outside one corner house in one of the housing estates there. I presume the residents of the house must be feng shui enthusiasts.
