I went with my neighbours to the beach front to specially throw some auspicious items into the sea for good luck. This practice is done in Penang. Throwing groundnuts would mean being blessed with longevity. Bananas bring wealth luck and spring onions would bring intellectual luck. As everyone would know, throwing mandarins into the sea bring romance luck. My neighbours threw groundnuts and bananas. Me? I am very kiasu and threw the whole lot into the sea. Heh! Heh!
