OMIGOD!!!

In the last post, I published the good stuff taken during my short visit to Petaling Street. Now, let me show you two disturbing sights that confronted me which made me feel very, very sad. The two people pictured above were begging for money. Both were lying prostrate in the middle of the walkway. The young man was handicapped and the lady was most probably in her seventies. I know that the authorities have done a lot for the welfare of the underprivileged and have placed many of them into welfare homes and so might not be aware of the situation in Petaling Street. Some of the peddlers that I asked informed me that they were not Malaysians and were from other countries. They have come to beg for a living. I could not do much except to offer alms to them. I hope that the authorities in KL are informed of this and take the necessary action. As this is Visit Malaysia Year and Petaling Street is a tourist attraction, quick action must be taken to remedy this problem. Anyway, I saw this last Sunday and hopefully, something has already been done.
