The dishes on the table for the reunion dinner have auspicious meanings behind them. They will have a tie in to longevity, reunion, perfection, good luck, health, diligence, satisfaction or promotion based on the homophone of the dish's name.
If possible, each member of the family must sample a bit from each of the dishes. Conversation should flow during the reunion dinner. Also, there should be leftover food. This would signify that wealth is not depleted.
