BITTER BUT I LIKE ...

I bought four different types of ulam-ulaman (raw bitter-type of vegetables) from the bazaar yesterday evening.  I enjoy eating them for the health benefits that they bring and also the bitter taste.  The ulam that I bought were kuncur, daun gajus, ara and tenggek burung.

Ulam or raw vegetables contain an abundance of antioxidants that have been associated with protection from chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and hypertension as well as other medical conditions.  The recommended daily consumption is 3 servings of vegetables.
