MICKEY MOUSE SONG 小小 大人物

Enjoy the MV below by Fahrenheit. The song that they are singing 小小大人(Xiao Xiao Da Ren Wu) is Mickey Mouse theme song for Hong Kong Disneyland. I am sure this song will be very popular in 2008 as it is the year of the Rat.

FENG SHUI FOR YEAR OF EARTH RAT (2008)

YEAR OF EARTH RAT (WU ZI)

Even though the lunar new year is slated to start on 7th February, 2008 but the Rat year begins on 4th February, 2008 at 9.02 p.m. So children born at 9.02 p.m. and after are considered Rat children.

Feng Shui Update for 2008

TAI SUI
Tai Sui (or the Grand Duke Jupiter) is located 7.5 degrees to 22.5 degrees North.

WHAT TO DO
To pacify or calm the ill effects of Tai Sui, place a Pi Yao in this sector. Also make sure not to sit facing this particular direction for the whole of 2008. Remember to sit with the Tai Sui behind you to have the Grand Duke supporting your efforts.

FIVE YELLOW AND THREE KILLINGS
Both nasty stars reside in the same sector for 2008, i.e. 157.5 degrees to 202.5 degrees South.

WHAT TO DO TO CONTAIN THE FIVE YELLOW
Try not to have anything red here. Avoid using anything that has to do with fire, e.g. flames, lamp, etc. Why? Because fire will strengthen the earth energy of the five yellow.
You can place things that are yellow in colour here and also the 5 element pagoda to contain the earth energy of the Wu Wang or Five Yellow.

WHAT TO DO TO CONTAIN THE THREE KILLINGS
Place a pair of Qi Lin in this sector to fight the ill effects of the sam sart. Do not sit with your back to this particular direction instead sit facing it in confrontational mode.

LUCKIEST SECTOR FOR 2008
The East sector is the luckiest as the annual star number 8 is located here.

SICKNESS STAR
Located in the Northwest sector

QUARRELSOME STAR
Located in the West sector

LOOKALIKE

I attended the wedding of my Malay colleague, Cikgu Zawawi, yesterday afternoon. When I was there I heard some of my Malay friends commenting that the bridal couple had very similar features. It seems that the Malays believe that if the husband and wife look very much like each other then they are considered to be compatible and that the likelihood of the marriage lasting till death do them part is very high. Well, the Chinese also hold a similar belief. In Cantonese, we call it "Fu Chai Seong". Loosely translated it means, the similar looks between husband and wife.
When I got home from the wedding reception, I studied the photographs that I took of the couple and indeed they have similar features. Note the same face shape and almost similar type of features. If based on that assumption, then my friend will surely have a longlasting marriage. Anyway, I hope and pray that their union will be a happy one.

SACRED TREES

I had to do some work at the Sitiawan Teacher Activity Centre (PKG Sitiawan) this week and I could not help but notice the two trees that were inside of the compound of the Hindu temple situated across the road to the PKG. The trunks of both trees had cloth wrapped around them. The neem tree had a sari cloth around it while the Bodhi tree had a cloth which to me looked like a dhoti. From what I saw, I had guessed that the neem tree embodied a female while the bodhi tree was male in nature.
I asked my colleague, Puan Lalitha, who went to offer prayers to the deities which were placed in front of the trees. She said that I was right. I am told that if the two trees were found to grow side by side in a place of worship with the leaves and branches of both trees growing and twining into each other then the trees are considered sacred. Furthermore, both the neem and bodhi trees are deemed auspicious by the Hindus. I think I might just bring offerings to the deities and sacred beings this holidays. I'd like to get divine help to speed up the publication of my book.

GATHERING OF FRIENDS

I meet up with a few of my friends and colleagues from other schools or towns whenever we happen to attend the same meeting, course or seminar. So, I am delighted each time we happen to meet in the course of our work. Besides doing the jobs that we have been called to perform, we also take time to catch up on each others lives. Believe me it is really nice to meet your old friends after not having met each for some time.

Above are some of my friends who attended a meeting at PKG Sitiawan today with me today.

Let me introduce them:

PRAYERS

I talked about the four-leaf clover bringing luck in my previous post but let me tell you something that is more potent than all the lucky charms on earth. It is none other than prayers. I believe that if we pray with a sincere heart and with all earnestness, our prayers will be answered most of the time. Of course, we also need to put in some effort as well. Say if my nephew, Benjamin, prays to God in the hope of getting straight As, he needs to study and work hard. All the prayers in the world will not work if there is no effort.
Today, I went to the Siamese temple near my house to pray that my nephew, Jeremy, will do well for all his papers in his examination. His SPM examination starts tomorrow.

PICK A CLOVER

When I was studying in England, I found that the people there believed that finding a four leaf clover would be very lucky. Here's a four-leaf clover! I mentioned that it is very rare and brings lots of goodness to its finder and keeper. I would like to help spread the goodies around.
By finding this clover your streak of good luck has already begun. Feel free to take the good luck with you. Go ahead and "pick" the clover. (To "pick" it..place your mouse over the clover and right click the mouse, then "save as" onto your computer.)
You can even send good luck to a friend by sending them a clover thru e-mail. Good luck will go where ever the clover goes.

LUCKY CHARM

I had actually wanted to write this post on a lucky charm last week but was unable to do so due to work commitment. I am still busy but I want to keep my word lest there might be anyone who is waiting for this.
The lucky charm that I bought from Eric's shop was a four leaf clover pendant. Well, he tells me that a few of the customers that he sold the pendants to really struck it big in the 4D draw. Some even won prizes several times. And the lucky people have gone back to his shop to buy the lucky charms with the four leaf clovers to be given as gifts to their friends and family. Even Eric has won money after wearing the pendant. Not once but several times. Wah! I told myself, I too must have one. Mine is squarish in shape as squares are lucky for me.
Let me tell you why people consider the four leaf clover to be lucky. It not only brings monetary luck but also 3 other types of luck as well. Maybe after reading the information below, you might go and look for one.
The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common three-leaf clover. According to superstition, such leaves bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally.
Clovers can have more than four leaflets. The most leaflets ever recorded is eighteen. It has been estimated that there are approximately 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every four-leaf clover.
According to legend, each leaflet represents something: the first is for hope, the second is for faith, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.

HAPPINESS IS A STATE OF MIND

I went to my friend's music shop this evening. I hadn't been there for a while since I was busy attending the library management course. I wanted to stock up on some DVD's for the holidays. I was actually looking for the K-drama, Coffee Prince No. 1 but ended up buying the DVD for Rain's concert in Seoul and the Japanese version of Hanazakarino Kimitachihe.
As usual whenever I am there I will spend some time chitchatting to my friend, Eric. We were talking about looking good and youthful and both of us agreed that if we think positively and think happy thoughts then we would look younger and better. In short, happiness is a state of mind. Don't you think so?
Oh! We were also talking about some lucky charms that would bring good luck to the wearer. I will write about it tomorrow as I need to complete some work now.
